Explorations in Oil & Cold Wax
Explore the diversity of oil and cold wax to create richly layered abstracted paintings. Unlike
encaustic, the wax is used at room temperature without heat. Using non-traditional tools, combine powdered pigments, oil bars, and other media along with the oil paint and wax medium to create depth, line and textured color fields. Learn through demonstrations, discussion and exploration. Discover the versatility of this medium through the experimental, intuitive nature of the class.

We know more than we can use. Look at all this stuff I’ve got in my head: rockets and Venetian churches, David Bowie and Big Macs, sunglasses and orgasms. —Susan Sontag
