Judges Comments: I'm impressed with the variety and dedication the artist's have displayed. I enjoy the use of mixed media both 2-D and 3-D, I think the title Layers is very appropriate many nuances and care(thought). The exquisite Corpse(s) are whimsical and Funky. Good Job All.

Midwest Collage Society Layers III Bloomindale Park District Exhibit 2009

August 2nd, MCS Workday is planned.

SUNDAY, AUGUST 2, 9:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.All day workday! Come when you can and leave when you have to. This is a great opportunity to spread out and work on something for an extended period. So bring your materials and work in progress as well as a sack lunch or snack.A gallery walk is being planned for our September meeting. More details will be given closer to that date.

Members News

Two of our MCS members have artist receptions this Friday evening, July 10, in Chicago. Why not make a night of it? Nancy Staszak is in the two-woman show "MESSAGES" with her friend Pat Lagger. The opening reception is this Friday evening, July 10, at the Chicago Cultural Center. Wine & cheese and other refreshments will be served from 5:00 to 7:30 PM. The Renaissance Court Gallery is on the first floor at 77 E. Randolph Street, right across the street from the north end of Millennium Park.
Cynthia Lee is part of a group exhibit at a gallery in the Pilsen Arts District of Chicago. The reception is on Friday, July 10, from 6 to 10 PM at 4Art Inc. Gallery, 1932 South Halsted Street, Chicago, IL 60608 - (312) 850.1816 - www.4ArtInc.com All the galleries in the area---two blocks of Halsted, just south of UIC's University Village---are open Friday evening as part of "Second Fridays."
