Botanical Collage
with
Susan Bartlett will present a demo on Botanical Collage.  Susan uses a method similar to the Talbot Method, where papers are pre-coated with gloss polymer medium.  There will be a short time for some hands-on experimenting using her tools and materials, but please bring along your own scissors and xacto knife.  You may also want to bring along a small amount of collage paper that has been pre-coated (on both sides) with gloss polymer medium.

Artist statement
I believe there are endless possibilities for work about natural curiosities. For each piece I like to highlight details that are not obvious, enlarge them and set them on a background of complementary color. Botanical Collage offers me the opportunity to dive into color as well as texture by creating my own papers. The papers Transform my drawings into sculpted pieces that have depth and are rich and vibrant. I own the whole creative process from start to finish, which allows me endless possibilities.

Bio
Susan has lived all over the country. The various landscapes have inspired her to be creative in my different mediums. She currently resides in Downers Grove, Illinois. In pursuit of furthering her art, went through the Botanical Art Illustrations program at the Morton Arboretum. Susan is currently a member of the Nature Artist Guild.

For this presentation members may want to bring scissors, Xacto knives & their own papers if they wish.
