MEETINGS
October 4th, 12 noon-2:30p.m.
At the Darien Police Station
Found Object Jewelry - presented by Mary Warner
For many of us collage artists, the FOUND OBJECT is THE BEST. So let's put some of those found objects on jewelry.
Mary will be bringing supplies (such as game pieces, charms, wire, rings, beads) ready for each to make several "found object charms."
Bring your own chain with larger links to hang them on OR if you'd like, for a small fee, she'll have the chain and clasps to finish a necklace or bracelet with your handmade charms.
For supplies, bring if you have them
a round nose pliers
a flat nose plier
a wire cutter
(Mary has a few extras of these pliers and we can share if we need to)
Your own, or buy from Mary, jewelry chain with larger links on which to attach your charms
Any of your own found objects and decorative beads you'd like to use.Mary will be bringing gold, 24 gauge wire, pins and jump rings.
Note: If you've never done this kind of work, you might like to check out one of the many
tutorials on the basics of jewelry making. To actually make a necklace like the one shown here
will take hours to make, but this will give us a start in knowing how to prepare the found object charms.
Advance registration will be necessary: Due to the need for social distancing we can only have 12 participants at (one person per table) our meeting/workshop. Masks must be worn.
Register for the Meeting by emailing Cherie Denton at cherayden@yahoo.com with the SUBJECT: MCS October 4th Meeting
All participants must be paid members of the MCS.

Many thanks to Margi and Andrea for their work on the Vogt exhibit. And thanks to all of you who participated to help fill the gallery walls. It has been very difficult to schedule exhibits. Many galleries are not taking reservations and many curators don't return phone calls. An effort will be made to create an online exhibit.
Sheltering in Place at Woodridge Library scheduled for December 2020 has been cancelled.
Between the Lines at Downers Grove Library is rescheduled for April 2021
Archeological Imagination at Bloomingdale Park District Museum - we are working on rescheduling for 2021
