March Meeting check it out


March 1  noon-2:30pm Carrie Ann Schumacher (Bonkowski) will present an artist talk on her practice of creating dresses out of book pages. Afterwards she will demonstrate how to create a wearable paper brooch by using scrapbooking tools. Participants will create their own "novel" brooch out of the pages of romance novels.
Supplies to bring: glue gun, scrapbooking/paper-working tools including scissors, hole punch, glue, and plastic table cloth.
Carrie Ann Schumacher is a multi-media artist living and working in the Chicago Suburbs. Her BFA in Digital Media was received from Elmhurst College in 2008. Subsequent to that she attended Northern Illinois University, where she received her MFA in Painting in 2012. She is currently on the faculty at College of DuPage, where she teaches Drawing Classes.



April 5th  noon-2:30pm Process and Practice-Collage Art Laura Lein-Svencner has been working in the medium of collage for 25 years. She has established a process and a practice around her art. Laura will share how artists can break rules, connect authentically and if you’ve become distant from your art how you can fall back in love with it. The demonstration of her “Tack Down Tuesday’s” will be shared for all to see from beginning to end.

We have 80 feet of wall space  to fill. 
The prospectus is attached. Please be kind to the exhibit chairs and submit work to Joan Lucht no later than March 20.

Several MCS members belong to the Downers Grove Artists Guild and will be showing at Mayslake. The Spirit of Nature  March 11 to May 3.

Also Intimate Abstract Landscapes at Lemont Center for the Arts, March 21st  
Space open for 6 students, keeping the intimacy of creating going. 

Carol Weber will be teaching a workshop on mixed media drawing and collage at the Arrowmont school of arts and crafts in the Smoky Mountains. 
The  workshop is one week long July 19-25, 2020
