NO MEETING IN JULY!

Next meeting is Sunday, August 7 - a work day from 9:00-3:00 pm where members can share techniques, experiences or ideas they have had.  Bring a bag lunch.

MCS Membership Renewal Deadline is July 1, 2016.  If you have not paid your 2016-17 dues by July 1st, your name will be dropped from the active membership list and you will lose member privileges. If you wish to remain a member, please send $20 to Cherie Denton at 4641 Stonewall Ave., Downers Grove IL 60515. EXHIBITS

The Flora, Fauna & Mother Nature Exhibit at the Gallery of Nature at Wasco Nursery will be ending July 11th.

Pick-up time for the artists is Tuesday, July 12th from 11AM to 2PM.

If you cannot get your own work, please call another member near you to get your work.

The gallery is located at 41W781 Route 64 (North Avenue) in Saint Charles.

Sharon Schmidt is the Gallery Director and curated our work and arranged a lovely reception for us. Be sure to thank her when you pick up  your work!

Our next Exhibit will be at the Aurora Public Arts Commission curated by Rena Church.

The theme is The Collective Muse

The exhibit will run from August 19th to October 22nd.

We do not yet have drop off, reception or pick up dates and times.

We will mail you entry forms when we have those dates. People can enter two or three pieces.

This exhibit will be judged for cash awards and all pieces should have collage elements in them.

MEMBERS

Annette Plettau has two collage pieces that were juried into Gallery 2016, Moraine Valley Community College art show, in Palos Hills.  She won 2nd prize for her collage "Natural Arch, St. Lucia." This show runs fromJune 2 through Aug. 8.  Hours are Monday- Thursday 9:00am. to 4:30 pm., and during most Fine and Performing Arts Center performances.

Annette Perone Leiber, Artist and Demonstration today

MEETINGS

Sunday, June 5, 12:30 to 3:00

The meeting of MCS will feature Annette Perone Leiber, noted artist, educator, founder of the Addison Art Guild and Center for the Arts, whose work work appears in many collections, will demonstrate collage techniques using cheesecloth, fiber fill, modeling paste, plastic wrap and acrylics.  Members do not need to bring supplies as this will be a demonstration only.

 Annette share her work and materials today with us.  Very textural with molding pastes and gauze and other fibers.

 Layering the materials and letting them dry first before she adds the Acrylic paints.

 Here Annette is gluing down some of the colored gauze and fibers.

Pre Demo pieces

 No blue or orange were added prior to demo but look what it did to the piece.

 This is a finished piece of Annette's she shared with us, I had to take a few more images of it at different angles.

 You can see the rich textures.

 Here Annette is adding back in the paints to embellish her papers which are photo copies of the painted gauze...kind of cool.
