Jonathon Talbot's Workshops

Three 2009 Talbot workshops have now been scheduled.
* Collage Techniques & Creative Exploration will take place Feb. 14th & 15th, 2009 with an optional extra day on the 16th. Saturday & Sunday, February 14th & 15th, 2009 with optional extra day on Monday, February 16th. COLLAGE TECHNIQUES & CREATIVE EXPLORATION / a 2 or 3-day (your choice) PRESIDENT'S WEEKEND WORKSHOP in the artist's studio: Join us in Warwick, NY for this 2- day + an optional extra-day President's Weekend workshop in the artist's studio. Enjoy new opportunities for spontaneity as you learn how to eliminate liquid adhesives from the collage-assembly process. Other subjects to be covered include "Getting Started," Accessing our Creative Energies, "Paperless" Transfer of Printed and Photocopied Images, Preserving Found Materials, Preparation of Substrates, Sources of Tools and Materials, Presentation and Framing of Finished Works, and more (like all Talbot workshops, this workshop's specific goals will be determined by the participants at the beginning of the workshop). Hours: 9:30 AM to 5:30 PM with optional evening hours on Saturday at no extra cost. Two-day workshop fee: $250. Extra day: $75 additional. Fee includes all materials, a free copy of "Collage: A New Approach," access to all tools in the studio, and continental breakfast, lunch, and refreshments each day. Learn shortcuts, resolve problems, and become an "image transfer expert."Hours: 10 AM to 5 PM. Sunday, February 22nd, 2009. DANCING WITH DESIGN / in the Artist's Studio: During this workshop we will "free-up" our approach to composition by using collage to explore a variety of the aspects of design. Included will be intellectual, intuitive, and kinesthetic approaches to line, shape, color (including hue, value, and intensity), texture, movement, rhythm, relativity, interest, and unity. Most of the day will be devoted to hands-on interactive compositional exercises but each participant will create at least one finished work as well. Hours: 10 AM to 5 PM. PS. There is nothing you have to buy in order to participate in any of these workshops. You will receive a list of suggested items to bring but the list specifically says bring only what you have do not buy anything. Please know that if you show up empty handed you will find that everything you need for a full and enriching experience will be provided.
