 MEETINGS

September 7  Noon - 2:30 -  Presenter  Dorothy Bury Shaw (Joan Lucht runs meeting)
A graduate of the Chicago Academy of Fine Arts, Dorothy initially taught art and freelanced as an editorial illustrator.  For more than a decade now, she's been focused on her fine art. She achieves a rich, other-worldly quality with her technique, rendering her subjects through the intricate layers of ink, colored pencil, and wet mediums on illustration board. She also incorporates elements of collage. Drawing and applying color to a printed papers, intermingling these as part of a larger composition, she creates another point of connection for the viewer and expands her story.  Dorothy’s work has won many awards and appeared in distinguished exhibits.  She is also a poet and typically writes a poem for each art work she creates.
