Dear MCS Members,
Our adventure continues. Most of us have lived a very long time and we know life has its twists and turns but none of us expected to be doing somersaults! Hope this newsletter finds you safe and staying in place.
Flexibility is the key to living a more relaxed life for the next few months. Meetings and Exhibitions may be cancelled or postponed so be sure to check the MCS Newsletter for the most up to date information. Thank you Joan Lucht for keeping us informed. Remember all of the coming changes are to keep us safe. Our primary concern at MCS is the safety and well-being of our members.
The Yin and Yang of Covid-19 is that it has offered the artist in us the amazing opportunity for uninterrupted creativity. Many of us are doing artwork and expanding that creativity and time to new recipes, learning new ways of communicating online, soon it will be gardening, etc. We are looking into the possibility of having some type of online meeting. Oh the things we can learn and the places we can go..... on the Internet.

It's time to renew your membership for 2020-21 that was due April 1st. Mail application (above in Tab)
Please remember that only members may exhibit work in MCS shows.
MEETINGS
May 3rd Cancelled! The Police station training room will remained closed throughout May in keeping with the latest stay-at-home order.
June 7th Stay at home project! Keeping us safe one more month.
("Altered Canvas for Collage" with Joan Lucht will be rescheduled for next March.)
Create an impermanent collage of natural materials in the style of Andy Goldworthy. This can be done in your yard, a nearby park or on a substrate of your choice in your house. Photograph it and send it with the title to Joan with Andy in subject line. Photos will be shared with participants. If there is enough interest we may incorporate photos into a hand-made book in a workshop next season.
To learn about Andy Goldsworthy you can view the attached Power Point presentation (this short program was created for a 5th grade class) on the artist or Google images of his work. There are three documentaries on Amazon Prime: Rivers and Tides (Free), Leaning into the Wind ($3.99) and Stone Aches ($1.99). You may be able to find them on other streaming programs or in your library if they have a pick-up program.
