MCS RETREAT
Wednesday, Sept 25 through Sunday, Sept 29, 2019
Camp Alexander Mack-Milford, Indiana

A fun activity at the retreat is the exchange of a small collage. The shape is a 4" X 4" square with a favorite quote.  We will continue our tradition this year.  Some artists like to create their squares ahead of retreat. Others will use this activity as a warm-up at retreat.  Don't feel this is something you must do.  Not everyone will participate.  For those who would like to work ahead, there are now 27 registered.

THE SISTERS PROJECT UPDATE by Margi
The Sisters Project Exhibit was a big success! Over $10,000 was raised for charities through the Sisters Project so far. Artwork that has not sold will be donated to charities and arts organization that are in need os silent auction items for their fundraisers, or returned to The Sisters Project artists, upon request. Thank you to all of my MCS friends who participated in The Sisters Project and made the exhibit and book possible. I sold out of my books at the reception, but ordered 20 more soft cover books. Some of these books will be donated to Libraries, Cancer Support Centers, and Hospice Centers, and the rest will be sold. They will be $70 per book.

Julie Dekker has a new exhibit in the gallery, but it is very small. She has asked me to keep unsold Sisters Project artwork in the gallery until August 31st. There will be a reception for the new exhibit on Friday, August 2nd from 7-9 p.m. She told me that the artist who has the new exhibit can't be there for the reception. However, I will be there for the reception and will tell people about the Sisters Project. I have slightly lowered the price on the remaining artwork in hopes of getting more donations to charities. Please let your friends know that there are several lovely pieces waiting for a new home! There will also be a jazz band in the gazebo again on Friday night! Artists who have requested to have their work returned to them will not have work in the gallery.
