Come see what's happening at theLaGrange Park Library! Planet Collage.com is proud to announce it second group show entitled“Post X” July 1, 2009 through July 31, 2009 - - Planet Collage.com will be exhibiting in the art gallery within the Lagrange Park Library (Illinois) located on the second floor during the month of July! This group show of members of planetcollage.com includes individual art by select members, exchanged collage postcards along with exchanged candy tins. Plantcollage.com is an international online fine art collage group whose members are from all over the globe. This show will represent select member artists who reside in the surrounding suburbs* of Chicago and as far away as Pennsylvania, Spain, California and Washington State. Along with small artworks created by planetcollage.com members, this exhibit includes a collection of postcards and tins received by curator and founder of planetcollage.com, LuEllen Joy Giera of LaGrange Park, IL. The international postcard exchange began in April 2006. A list is created month by month and each participating artist is expected to make one postcard-sized (5”x7”) collage and mail them out to each and every participant. Each artist will receive the equal number of postcards back in their mailbox each month. This group show is just a very small portion of a wonderful array of collage work including framed and unframed pieces, candy tins and postcards exchanged to and from each artist as part of the monthly international postcard exchange. This is the second group show of PlanetCollage.com. Please view planetcollage.com and click on the member’s page for more information!

The Midwest Collage Society invites the public to view a traveling Exhibit “Alphabetica III” at the Orland Park Library, 14921 Ravinia Ave. Orland Park, IL 60462. The exhibit runs from April 30th to May 29th. Meet the artists on May 1st 7-8:30pm.

The Midwest Collage Society members created this exhibit called “Alphebetica” from one of its own members ideas of using a set of old school alphabet cards. Mary Warner asked each member to pick a card and freely interpret it as they wished. The first exhibit, “Alphabetica”, was shown at Downers Grove Public Library in April 2008 and then shown in September as “Alphabetica II” at Indian Prairie Public Library in Darien. The third exhibit, “Alphabetica III”, will be exhibited at Orland Park Library during the May of 2009. Each time the exhibit has been presented a few piece have sold; this has encouraged the artists to create new pieces. The Midwest Collage Society members try to represent each letter of the alphabet, but at time a few letters are missing. Children have been encouraged to come to the library’s exhibit to “Find the Missing Letters”
