Robin Liefeld is a writer and self-taught mixed media artist who creates whimsical, childlike characters with vibrant colors and lots of dimension. Her colorful works of art often encourage you to stand in your truth and to be brave in the face of challenges. She wants her paintings to connect to the inner child and uplift, and lighten the soul. She will show her process using various works in progress - discussing what she does at each stage. She will not be actually painting anything.
Next, Robin will discuss the process she goes through with each painting to prepare it for sale in various forms. She will have a handout describing tips and tools she uses. FIVE days of creating with abandon. We hope you will consider dedicating the time this year to make good friends, learn a new collage or mixed media technique, be inspired by the beautiful local nature. Please encourage a friend that is not necessarily a MCS member to attend. We need to have 25 participants to make this still affordable. Last year we had a great group which included someone from Poland, and even a poet joined us. We encourage any creative to join the fun. This year's fee will be $265. for 4 nights lodging and 11 meals.

The Sisters Project Update
The Sisters Project Exhibit and book will be promoted at the Norris Gallery during May/June MCS Norris Exhibit. However, the full Sisters Project Exhibit will be at The Vogt Gallery in Tinley Park the Month of July, 2019. Since Vogt Gallery does not request a commission fee, all of the proceeds from the sale of art will go to charities. Changing the date also gives everyone a little more time to complete Danna's paintings. There is a possibility of additional exhibit opportunities at the JourneyCare Hospice facility in Glenview, and through the Northshore Medical Center Foundation for Cancer Research. There are over 55 artists participating in The Sisters Project and there will be over 150 pieces of art to exhibit, including some pieces that Donna created herself. Margi is starting on digitally creating the book this month and hopes to finish it by the end of August. Hopefully, all finished artwork will be competed by August 1st so that they can be included in the book. Thank you to all MCS members who are participating in this project.
