February News - 2015

MCS MEETING FOR TOMORROW FEBRUARY 1 IS BEING CANCELLED

We have decided to cancel the meeting tomorrow because of the snow.  Since we do not
know if the weather will be worse in the morning or afternoon Maureen decided we should
cancel for the safety of all members. We also had to consider the photographer coming all
the way out and not knowing how many people would show up.  We are hoping to be able
to add him in to the March meeting.  We will send an update later this month.
Be safe and we'll see you in March.


February Monthly Meeting and Program:  Photograph Opportunity and All Work Day

Important - Hours are  9-3

Date:  February 1, 2015 will be an all-day work day but we will have photographer available in the first part of the meeting only. (morning)


Important - Hours are  9-3   Bring a lunch

Photographer: Ben Cooley who photographed our work for the Zhou B. Art Center show.

Cost: 1st piece free. Any additional pieces $10 charge payable to Ben Cooley on the day of the shoot.

Limitations:

All members have the opportunity to have one piece of artwork photographed but the main purpose of this opportunity is to have a cd with new images to send out with proposals for new shows.

There are no restrictions on size but due to limitations of lighting at the police station Ben requests no glass on the artwork.

Celebrating Home may refer to the home you live in now or as a child, something that makes you feel at home.

Home can be… a dwelling for humans or animals, any habitat, shelter or refuge a safe place. The family or social unit that occupies a space, a place where one feels secure or happy.

Registration will be sent out soon.

If you are interested the number of participants will determine how many pieces each artist can show.

2015 Annual Retreat for 5 days in Camp Mack Indiana.

Space will be limited to 22 people.
Dates: Wednesday, Sept 23 2015 to Sunday Sept 27, 2015. Price: $225 includes lodging and meals.
