The 21st Annual Best of the Best exhibit takes this year place at the

Mayslake Peabody Estate
1717 W. 31st St. , Oak Brook, IL
from March 19th through April 29th.

Best of the Best Opening Reception/50th Anniversary Celebration of
AFA (Alliance of Fine Art) takes place on
Thursday, April 4th from 6:30pm until 7:30 pm,
followed by the Award Ceremony at 7:45pm to 8:30pm.

and this was Donny Osmonds's mask that Laura Lein-Svencner had...there will be another Gala Celebration with the Auction Fund Raiser for the DuPage Children's Museum in Naperville..Really is a Awesome place to visit.

Creative Mixed Media Doll on Exhibit

Some of the MCS members - namely Gale Vance, Joan Lucht, Barb Boland, Nancy Swingle, Gai Moodie, Ann Hupke, April Schabes, Margi Haefer, Sylia Koch and myself - were in a doll round robin last year. You might have seen some of our dolls as they were being worked on and passed. A couple of days ago Nancy and Margi put the dolls on display at the Palos Park Library at 12330 Forest Glen Blvd in Palos Park. They will be exhibited until March 28. Hours are Mon-Thurs 9:30-8 and Friday and Saturday 9:30-5.

Try to get over to see the display. There's some amazing dolls to be seen.

Math  Art  Science for Kids

March meeting

Our March meeting will be held Sunday, March 3, from 12:30 - 3:00 pm at the Darien Municipal Center. Special guest speaker is Dorothea Bilder, Professor Emeritus of Art at Northern Illinois University. Dorothea's presentation "Many Facets-One Spirit" will include showing her work and speaking about composition and design principles. A $5 studio fee will apply.
