RETREAT
Save the Date for 2016 MCS Camp Mack Retreat:  
Wednesday Sept 21 through Sunday, 25 2016.  COST: $225
Registration forms will be available April, 2016

Anyone who paid for the retreat in August or September and has not had their check clear, please contact me and let me know the amount of the check and the date it was written.  There may have been some checks that were lost in the mail and not deposited to the MCS account.

Laura will be the driver and drop off  your artwork for this exhibit.  Please read the following and contact her so your artwork can be dropped of on Feb 6th.  If you are planning on dropping your art work off yourself no need to call.

ARTWORK, AWARDS, EXHIBITS, ETC.
Margi Hafer received the 1st Place Award for her collage "Reminiscence" in the Bloomingdale show, "Yesterday, Today and Tomorrow".

Mary Yesek and Margi Hafer both entered in the Mystery Build 2015 competition. Although voting has ended we await news of the announcement of winners.

Classes On-line and at Maysake Peabody Estates 
Instructor - Laura Lein-Svencner 
Laura will be start a series of On Line "Basic Collage Sketchbook Classes in January, these classes can be taken at home in our PJ's with simple materials; Magazine, glue stick, ruler, spiral bound sketchbook. Brush up on your Elements and Principles, to working a single composition and the last one is a study of all the different compositions.  Computer skills are needed, Classes are presented in a blog setting and images of your sketchbook work would need to be share on line.  Though you can still take the on-line class because all lessons are sent in a pdf format and you received a video of the lesson, you can work at you own pace. 

Collage and Assemblage Boxes

Dig out those old photos, found papers and junk drawer objects from the past. This class invites new life and inspiration to build a piece of art like the famous artist Joseph Cornell. Students will learn about making collage papers, the art of tacking them to the watercolor surface. Combined with preparation and mounting their collages in wood panel with the use of acrylics, mixed media, glue, nails and other hardware. Adults. $165 plus $20 supply fee.
